Many things are afoot here in Listen Blog central, which is why it has been so incredibly long since the last post. But first, let me say again how psyched I am about My New Bass. I sold one of my “old” basses, so I’ll be posting something on that ASAP, and I have a BabyEGO 5-string bass that I want to write about soon.

But first, some things:

• Fergie is a genius, Justin Timberlake is a dolt. This has nothing to do with the quality of their music, because in this field Timberlake is the winner, hands down. No, this has more to do with their lyrics, and because Fergie spells, she is smarter. Really.
• Electric Soft Parade is totally groovy, I like Bruxellisation best. They are like a wimpier Wilco.
• Amy Winehouse rocks. Rehab is killer and Back to Black (not Back IN Black) is my fave of 2007 so far.
• Lilly Allen is not as happening as Winehouse, as far as songwriting is concerned, but she is clearly a marketing guru.
• Just heard a couple of tracks by CeU, which were absolutely gorgeous.
