Please don’t take the relative quiet on the blog front as the beginning of the end. It’s been a very very interesting couple of weeks and just keeping tabs on everything has been more of a challenge than usual. I still have some pieces in the works that are going to absolutely rock. In the meantime, a few stories worth checking out:
- Dolly Parton has a new record label. Did she part ways with her previous label because she is as hip as Paul McCartney or did they part ways with her (“she’s a free agent”)? Is she going to give away her first CD?
- Robert Plant has announced a new CD, due to ship in October. It is a collaboration with Alison Krauss.
- Stevie Wonder is going back on the road.
- AT&T “accidentally”censored anti-Bush lyrics during a Pearl Jam concert broadcast. Future of Music Coalition has more on this story.
- Keith Jarrett is up to his old tricks, but one blogger/reviewer thinks it would be no big deal if Jarrett were a rock musician. He’s probably right.
- MP3’s sound bad. News flash!
That’s all the news that is news, or fit to print, or something like that.
Thanks,
Rick McLaughlin
